Frequently Asked Questions. Here are some common questions about our sightseeing boat tours.
If weather cancels the tour do I get a refund?
If inclement weather causes your tour to be cancelled we will either try to reschedule you when weather improves, or if that is not possible for you, we will provide a full refund.
Will I get motion sick on this experience?
It is very unlikely that you will get motion sick on this experience, even if you are sensitive to motion because we operate in the calm, protected waters of Biscayne Bay where the “rocking and rolling” motion found while navigating in the ocean is NOT present. Also, the boat we use for this sightseeing experience is very stable and secure, creating for a smooth ride, even in windy conditions. In 11 years of business, we have NEVER had anyone become ill due to motion sickness on our vessels. We advise NOT taking any type of motion sickness pill before your tour, it is not necessary.
Is there an age limit for children taking this tour?
If your child is under the age of 3, we ask that you call our reservation line to discuss if this experience would be appropriate for your child. This is an open boat, with sun, wind and sometimes salt spray exposure, we do not recommend this tour for infants. Children up to 13 years of age are required by the USCG to wear life vests throughout the tour. Children up to 4 years old must sit with a parent during the tour.
Is this tour appropriate for pregnant women?
We ask that you abide by whatever activities your doctor has relayed you are able to participate in. We can tell you this is not an overly aggressive tour but at times we will hit speeds of up to 30 mph. During some portions of the tour we could encounter boat wakes that create a bumpy situation. Please call our office and discuss your particular situation and we can better advise you on what conditions will be like during your desired tour time, so that you can make an informed decision.
Can we bring cameras and personal items aboard?
There is dry storage under each passenger’s seat for small purses, bags and other personal items. We encourage bringing cameras aboard and it is safe to keep them out during the tours. We cannot accommodate large bags, suitcases, etc.
Will I get wet on this tour?
This is a very dry boat and tour experience, unless we have extreme wind conditions. At times, Florida rain showers might move through the area, but we will advise you if we think this will happen. We have complimentary rain ponchos for each passenger if necessary.
What is the cancellation policy?
We are a 6-passenger small group boat tour with limited capacity per tour and fewer opportunities to replace late cancellations that can significantly impact our operations. We appreciate your understanding our 48 hour cancellation policy. Cancellation notices received within 48 hours of your reservation will be given a full credit in the form of a same value gift certificate on a future tour with us within one full year. We will make our best effort to sell your seats and give you a full refund, however this is not always possible at the last minute. If weather forces cancellation before departure you will receive a full refund. If weather interrupts or cancels a tour after departure we will make every effort to reschedule your trip or provide you with a tour voucher good for one year.
What type of clothing should I wear on this tour?
We recommend comfortable clothing, shorts/t-shirts in the warmer summer months and light jackets or sweaters during the cooler winter season. Sunglasses, hats, sunscreen and soft-soled shoes are also recommended. Passengers will be asked to remove shoes with any type of heel or sole that could damage the vessel.
