What is the best time of year for dolphin watching in Miami? Dolphin sightings are most common year-round in Miami, but peak seasons typically coincide with the warmer months from spring to fall.

Are dolphin-watching tours suitable for children? Yes, our tours are family-friendly activities suitable for children of all ages. However, it’s essential to follow safety guidelines and ensure children are supervised at all times.

Can I swim with dolphins during the Miami tour Swimming with dolphins is not permitted on our baywatch dolphin tours or anywhere in Florida in the wild. It is illegal to swim with dolphins in the wild. 

What happens if we don’t see any dolphins during the tour? While dolphin sightings are highly likely, it’s essential to remember that wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed. We do our best to find dolphins, but they are wild creatures, and at times, they may elude us. 

Do you offer whale watching in Miami? We don’t have the chance of Miami whale watching because it’s very rare and almost impossible to see whales in Miami, therefore, our tours focus primarily on dolphin encounters. However, Miami’s waters are teeming with diverse marine life, providing ample opportunities for unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Why Dolphin Sightings Aren’t Guaranteed

While our knowledgeable guides are adept at knowing the areas of Biscayne Bay where dolphins are most frequently spotted, it’s important to remember that these majestic creatures are in the wild, and their behavior can be unpredictable. Unlike the controlled environment of places like SeaWorld, our tours offer a genuine encounter with dolphins in their natural habitat. 

While we boast an impressive success rate, with dolphin sightings occurring on approximately 90% of our tours, there remains a chance that they may elude us. After all, dolphins are intelligent beings with their own agendas, and sometimes they simply prefer to remain hidden. However, even if dolphins are elusive during your bayside boat ride, there are still ample opportunities to marvel at the diverse marine life of Biscayne Bay, including manatees, tarpon, and a variety of sea birds

Observing these magnificent creatures in their natural environment, especially on our sunset tours,  is a highlight for both us and our guests. In pursuit of this goal, we have embraced the Dolphin SMART program. Originating in Key West, this educational initiative promotes responsible dolphin viewing practices among commercial operators. Its aim is to mitigate any potential negative impacts that dolphin watching tours may have on these sensitive animals.
